Biography
I have worked as a school, hospital, and corporate psychologist, as well as an independent practitioner, for over 30 years, and thus offer a unique breadth and depth of knowledge and insight to my clients who come with varying concerns. My continued inquiry into the connection of mind, body and spirit enables me to provide a holistic approach in my independent practice.
My Master of science degree was focused on child psychology, and thus I am very comfortable helping clients with concerns regarding children. During my study for my PhD I focused on adult psychology.
As a corporate psychologist I developed and coordinated the Employee Assistance Program for the corporate headquarters of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, (PG&E) in San Francisco, CA. There I coached and consulted to executives, helped support employees in need, presented educational programs on various topics, and provided clinical assessment, mediation, crisis intervention and trauma response. My work inside the corporate world has enabled me to better understand my clients’ work related challenges.
I also enjoy working with couples, as well as adults with adult children to help with family dynamics, and have had much success helping couples and family members improve their relationships.
On a personal note, I know what it is to face challenges. I self-financed all my education beyond high school, was a single mother for 15 years, and am a cancer survivor. Since sustaining a personal trauma and learning from the experience, I have led workshops aimed at deepening and escalating one’s developmental process and emotional growth, which I believe leads to a more effective, powerful, and balanced work and personal life.
