Biography
Dr. Narcis Valen, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment for complex trauma/PTSD, anxiety, relationship, and self-esteem. She offers front-line therapies like CPT, EMDR, PE, & CBT alongside somatic techniques, and uses an integrative approach grounded in neuroscience and existential psychology to provide collaborative, specialized care. Dr. Valen's practice is focused on helping clients understand unhelpful patterns and leave treatment with concrete skills.
Prior to establishing her private practice, Dr. Valen spent over a decade working in neuroscience research, including on projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH). After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), she completed her master's and doctoral training at the University of Southern California (USC). As part of her clinical training and professional practice, Dr. Valen has worked in diverse clinical settings, including community mental health clinics, the USC Keck School of Medicine’s Neurology Clinic, and the VA’s PTSD Clinical Team. These experiences inform her thoughtful, evidence-based, and compassionate approach to care.
