Introduction:
Dr. Khalifeh is a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY #24663) and maintains a private practice in Marin County. Dr. Khalifeh earned her Master of Arts and her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited program at the Rosemead School of Psychology, at Biola University.
Dr. Khalifeh comes to Marin after spending the past year working as the Program Coordinator of the Evening Intensive Outpatient Program at the Eating Disorder Center of Denver. Dr. Khalifeh completed a year-long APA-accredited internship at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she served on the psychological assessment, eating disorder, and substance abuse teams. In addition to her training at the University of Colorado, she completed several training rotations in neuropsychology, including rotations at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente.
Over the course of her training in various university counseling and medical centers, treatment centers, and hospitals, Dr. Khalifeh has developed proficiency in providing individual and group psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessment, and personality assessment with a diverse client population. Dr. Khalifeh believes in a collaborative approach to therapy and in the healing nature of attachment and relationships. As a psychologist, Dr. Khalifeh believes that it is important to help her clients develop a greater sense of acceptance regarding their life experiences and to provide the space that allows them to “move forward.” Dr. Khalifeh believes that in order to live a truly fulfilling life, one has to be willing to take risks and practice new behaviors. Furthermore, Dr. Khalifeh strives to support her clients in living more fully in the present moment and moving towards their core values.
